Online Charity Auction
14 June 2020 / 7 pm

In these hard times art institutions and charitable organizations have joined their efforts to help doctors in their battle against the virus – and to support artists.

The COVID-19 pandemic suddenly, unexpectedly took hold of the world and dramatically changed the usual order of things. Professionals across industries have been dealt a serious blow; hospital workload has been unevenly distributed between all the medical specialties.
Under such circumstances some people are panic-stricken, checking the number of new coronavirus cases on a daily basis and not taking any actions, whereas others focus on supporting the doctors from infectious disease wards, but seem to neglect the rest of vulnerable populations.
However, there are situations when non-commercial organizations and art institutions team up to produce a model of communication in the spirit of smart charity: creating conditions in order to support both doctors (now and after the end of the pandemic) and others who suffer from the pandemic – namely artists.

Artists have lost an opportunity to publicly display and exhibit their works, whereas thousands of doctors and nurses are fighting every minute for the lives of those infected with COVID-19. The number of cases is going up; therefore, helping patients requires increasing effort.
The Foundation of Vladimir Smirnov and Konstantin Sorokin, the Charitable Foundation Obraz zhizni [The Way of Life], and the charitable organization voblago.club have organized an online charity auction with the purpose of raising money in order to provide essential support for doctors during the pandemic. The total of 50 works will be auctioned, some of them came from the artists themselves, others were provided by patron of the arts Vladimir Smirnov from the private collection, and the rest of them were provided with the support of: Omelchenko gallery, ARTpatrol, Syntax gallery, Artwin gallery, Krokin gallery, and a-s-t-r-a gallery.

Date and time – 14 June at 7 pm
Venue: auction platform bidspirit.

All proceeds from the auction will be used to purchase a ventilator – and to support young artists.
