Vladimir Smirnov and Konstantin Sorokin continue to extend the collection of contemporary art of the last two decades at the Tretyakov Gallery. In October 2019 one hundred works were donated to the Tretyakov Gallery — paintings and graphics, photographs and video art, objects and installations by artists, working in different directions.
Now they have added around 30 works by young, but already accomplished artists including: Andrey Syaylev, Kirill Makarov, Anna Zhelud, Aristarkh Chernyshev, Irina Korina, the Blue Soup Art Group, Pavel Otdelnov, Kirill Garshin, Arseny Zhilyayev, Taus Makhacheva, Timofey Parshchikov, Vika Begalskaya and Alexander Vilkin, Ivan Gorshkov, Olya Kroytor, Viktor Alimpiyev and Sergey Vishnevsky.

In April 2020 the large-scale exhibition Generation XXI. The Gift of Vladimir Smirnov and Konstantin Sorokin will take place at the New Tretyakov Gallery. Its goal is to represent and analyze the main phenomena and ideas in Russian art of the last decade.
