About the Exhibition:
Personal exhibition of Anastasia Koroleva “Ambivalence”. Vladimir Smirnov and Konstantin Sorokin Foundation presents Anastasia Koroleva’s personal exhibition “Ambivalence” at the parallel program of the VII Moscow International Biennale for Young Art.
The narrative is built around two stories at the exhibition. The first one — “La Foret” (in collaboration with Mikhail Marushkin) tells about interaction with the forest: contact is mediated and transferred to a new level of interaction. In the second part — “Ferrum” — the viewer gets the opportunity of the direct presence at the moment of exchange with an unidentified natural, which is carried by a person.
There is a hidden fragment in the project structure — the intervention of the external, called, and provoked. Having reached the climax and being in the moment of presenting the artifact, it becomes obvious that the repressed habitual is exposed, which is present as an invisible fear, as an echo of those forces that are beyond the control.
